Hi, my name is Harriet, I am 23 years old and moved to Kiel in 2016. I am studying business administration with a focus on financial accounting & auditing at the FH Kiel. I am currently writing my bachelor thesis and will finish my bachelor’s degree in September. I love travelling, going out with friends and doing sports.

What’s your favourite place in Kiel…

… to have a delicious brunch?
For brunch I prefer to go to Café Resonanz. They have a delicious range of breakfast dishes inspired by the most diverse countries and the most beautiful interior design – very warm and welcoming.

… to order dinner from?
If you like Thai food, I can recommend the Banmaai – it’s very authentic there and their pad thai is amazing!

… for entertainment?
The Kieler Woche has the biggest entertainment offer. I look forward to the concerts, the food trucks etc. all year round. I love going there and listening to the concerts at the sea front in the evening.

… during sunshine?
When the sun shines, I like to go to the “Seebar”. There you can get delicious homemade lemonades and also delicious snacks. Who wants to can jump directly into the water from there – a very unique bar.

…to celebrate life?
In Kiel I prefer to celebrate in the Trauma or in the Villa. On Wednesdays I love to go “cheapen” with my roommate in the Trauma.

…for a good coffee?
For a coffee I can highly recommend the Café Bakeliet. They are roasting the coffee themselves and it tastes really good. By the way, it is also served at the Café Resonanz.

… for a park stroll/ to switch off of everydays life?
Schrevenpark is a very good place to do this. In Summer, a lot of people are relaxing in the park, having barbecues and enjoying the sun.

… to do sports?
When the weather is good, you can go running or rollerblading at the Kiellinie. Otherwise I am a member at FitX, which I find not so bad against its prejudices.

… to study?
I like to study in the group rooms of the FH Kiel. Often I get tips from students from higher semesters who have already written the exam, which is very helpful!

… to meet people?
Actually I can say that I like to meet my friends and new people at all the places I have mentioned. The Schrevenpark is amazing to meet people from the FH by suprise, because everybody likes to go there.

And last but not least, what is your favourite place outside of Kiel?
I spent my fifth semester in Malaga and since then the city is like a second home for me. The city even has some parallels to Kiel, but the weather is much nicer in Malaga.
