In the city gallery, you can mainly experience contemporary art. It houses international installations and simultaneously offers young artists the chance to showcase their work through the “Prima Kunst” association. Thanks to its location in the city centre, it is perfect for a visit in between errands. Until the 24th of November the main exhibition is called “Kiel (re)connecting.earth. The city museum “Warleberger Hof” complements the maritime museum. It also highlights the history of Kiel but focuses its temporary exhibitions on the art and culture of the 19th and 20th century. Additionally, the sight of the museum alone invites for a visit. Build in 1616 as a nobility court, the museum in Kiel’s historical centre is one of the oldest buildings in the city and features an original arched cellar.
