As a little first Advent surprise, two new SprottenFlotte bike sharing stations were opened along the Kiellinie on November 30th, 2024, expanding the mobility offering for Kiel residents and visitors.
The new stations are located at Blücherbrücke and Anleger Bellevue. This expansion allows users to easily rent and return bikes while enjoying the picturesque waterfront.
The addition of these stations is particularly beneficial for those looking to switch to the F1 ferry or head to the Förde for winter swimming. With the SprottenFlotte, users can enjoy a flexible and sustainable mode of transportation, making it easier to navigate the city and its surroundings.
At both stations, station brackets are to be added for parking the SprottenFlotten bicycles.
The SprottenFlotte system offers approximately 1,200 bicycles, including standard bikes and e-bikes, available at 200 stations throughout the Kiel region. This initiative not only promotes eco-friendly travel but also supports spontaneous trips and daily commuting needs, aligning with Kiel’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
